In Delaware, Providence offers services through the Providence Service Corporation of Delaware (“Providence of Delaware”).
Providence of Delaware was originally established in Delaware in 2003. Since that time, we have grown from one program to offer a continuum of services to youth and families. Providence of Delaware is licensed by the Department of Services for Children, Youth and Families as a Child Placing Agency.
Our Individualized Residential Treatment (IRT) program was designed to reduce the need for hospitalization and residential placements of children. This innovative program delivers treatment interventions designed to meet the unique need of each child and family. Services are offered in the community through specialized, therapeutic foster care and supportive services.

Providence of Delaware also collaborates with the Department of Youth Rehabilitative Services to provide home- and community-based services aimed at reducing recidivism and the need for institutionalization. The program seeks to improve community adjustment, family functioning and personal responsibility.
All of the services of Providence of Delaware seek to improve family functioning and to maintain children in their home and community, and all are available state-wide. Services include in-home counseling, behavioral interventions, school-based individual and group counseling, day treatment, adult services, outpatient therapy, substance abuse services, and sex offender counseling.
