FPS is approved by the State of Louisiana Office of Mental Health to provide Mental Health Rehabilitation Services and Assertive Community Treatment and is accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA).
The FPS Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team is designed to provide comprehensive, community-based psychiatric treatment, rehabilitation, and support. Among the services ACT teams provide are: case management, initial and ongoing assessments; psychiatric services; employment and housing assistance; family support and education; substance abuse services; and other services and supports critical to an individual's ability to live successfully in the community.
Our goal is to work collaboratively with individuals and families affected by major mental illness and substance use. We strive to empower our consumers to reach their quality of life goals through supportive, independent living. We represent and are committed to providing quality treatment that values individuality, team work, cultural diversity, and community memberships.
The ACT Program assists individuals who have been diagnosed with a severe and persistent mental illness (e.g. Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Psychotic Disorder NOS, and Bipolar Disorder). These individuals may have had difficulty in the past with traditional, outpatient mental health and psychiatric services, or they may have experienced co-existing problems such as homelessness, substance abuse difficulties, involvement with the legal system, or developmental disabilities.
The Mental Health Rehabilitation Program provides psychiatric services including medication management, individual, group and family counseling, and community support service. Community Support Services are provided to help improve every day skills such as social skills, study habits, making decisions, and other skills individuals may need to do better in school and/or at work.
FPS accepts Medicaid, Medicare, most insurance plans, and private pay.
A to Z In-Home Tutoring provides effective, high-quality tutoring to students to improve their grades and their ability to learn. Many of our clients were born into poverty, and some were abused, neglected or abandoned. With the right inspiration and a little help on the academic front, these children can quickly catch up in school, get ahead and develop the skills and self-esteem to be successful in life. Tutoring is Individualized, tailored to the unique needs of each child. Services are offered in the client’s home, at their school or in the community.
Upon completing the A to Z program, students typically acquire six new math skills and six new language arts skills. On average, student composite scores increase by 21% from pre-test scores to post-test scores. Parents love the A to Z program. In surveys of parents completed at the conclusion of every school year, A to Z consistently receives very high marks. Parents see improvements in areas such as: grades, behavior at school, attendance and self-esteem. Last year, A to Z’s parent satisfaction rate was 97%.
A to Z was founded on the principle that every child, regardless of their socio-economic background, deserves a chance to have a good education. We are proud partners of many local area social service agencies, school districts and non-profit organizations that deal with children who have problems. We specialize in working with at-risk youth and children who have been victims of abuse and neglect. Encouragement, inspiration and building self-esteem have become the foundational tenets of our tutoring.
A to Z has been a No Child Left Behind supplemental education service provider since 2002. Today, the company partners with over 280 districts each year to provide tutoring to children living in poverty. We're very proud of our tutors and all that they have accomplished in these challenging environments.
