Family-Based Strategies, Inc. (“FBS”) was founded in 2004 and became part of the Providence network of providers in 2006.

FBS is one of the first multi-cultural Intensive In-Community and Behavioral Assistance programs in the State. The staff possesses expertise and resources in working with a myriad of issues which increasingly confront youth and families. These include but are not limited to: attachment and trauma, domestic violence, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, self-injurious behaviors/ eating disorders, behavioral issues both at home, school and in the community, HIV/AIDS, developmental challenges and delinquent behaviors. The goal is to utilize evidenced-based practices within the family systems approach so that clients are able to enhance existing family strengths in order to foster family and community self-sufficiency.

Clients are served in their homes, schools, neighborhoods, and communities. All services delivered are a direct reflection of the family’s own goals and are provided in a safe and nurturing environment that fosters the concepts of mutual respect and responsibility, with a vision of supporting the family in moving away from all agency involvement. FBS provides the following services: Intensive In-Community Services (IIC), Community-Based Behavioral Assistance (BA) and Adolescent Substance Abuse Treatment and Specialty Groups.
