Behavioral Monitoring

A strong component of Providence's services to children and families is Behavioral Health Monitoring. Through different approaches, Providence maintains consistent records of the progress achieved by clients in our programs.

One approach is the Monitor Program, our exclusive behavioral health monitoring service that uses the Qualifacts System to accurately track a child's behavioral and developmental progress while in treatment. The concept is both simple and revolutionary. Each day, trained Monitor Operators contact the child's primary caretaker to gather clinical information regarding the child's behavior and other factors. This data is entered into our Qualifacts System that generates a report with an associated score. These reports are issued daily to the child's treatment team.

The wealth of information obtained through these daily reports allows clinicians to follow cases closely, and the computerized database clearly identifies trends and patterns in the child's response to treatment. Simply put, the Monitor Program significantly enhances the treatment process because it gives clinicians daily feedback on the child's progress so they will know immediately whether and how to adjust the child's treatment to the most appropriate level of care. Furthermore, the reports enable clinicians to intervene in potentially volatile situations before crisis occurs, reducing the need for more intensive services.

In other areas, Case Managers frequently check in with parents and families to determine the well-being of clients between counseling sessions. In this way case management adds to the clinical team's ability to track progress, identify patterns of behavior, and de-escalate a potential crisis before it results in hospitalization for the child.

The Monitor Program is currently available in Florida, Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan , Illinois, North Carolina, Maine, South Carolina, West Virginia, and Washington, DC.. Case management is part of our programs across the country.
