Appreciation in Maine
Dear Providence
I’d like to begin for thanking you for the work your staff do with my son. We have been with Providence for approximately 3 years now, and it has made it possible for my son to remain in our home safely and for him to gain the skills that enable him to be on his way toward independence.
I read your proposal “Alternative Response Program Proposal”. It sounds very much like the service we have received from Providence. We have been impressed with the quality of staff that has entered our home. All have been well trained, qualified and supervised.
My wife and I are also professionals in the field of special education and mental health. We’ve had occasion to observe the work of a lot of children’s behavioral health providers. Few measure up to your standard. Perhaps of most importance to us is the attitude of your staff toward us as parents. Your staff truly understand the concept of family centered practice.
As a result of our experience I believe that I can support your proposal with the strong assurance that you perform like you talk. Should you be successful you will be working with very vulnerable families who depend on professionals to meet them with the same strength based approach you have shown us.
Should those reviewing your proposal want to discuss it with me directly, I’d be happy to talk to them.
Good luck with your proposal.
Yours truly,
A Client Parent

State Director:
My son is currently a client of Providence Corporation – he is working with two counselors out of the Brunswick office. I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you what phenomenal service my son and I have been receiving from Providence. Your therapists came into our lives when we were at our absolute lowest and my son and I have made tremendous progress with their assistance. While your staff have said that it is my son and I doing all of the work, they have never made it feel like it’s work. In all sincerity, I consider them our guardian angels. I recently received a survey from the state regarding my son’s mental health issues and the services we are receiving and I took the opportunity to write a separate note praising the services of Providence.
In this day of cynicism and complaints, I wanted to take the opportunity to send my thanks and to make you aware of the wonderful services both of these two counselors have been providing to us.
Regards
A Happy Parent
