Violence Prevention
Violence prevention work is an important part of many of our services. In most geographic areas, violence prevention is offered in the form of Anger Management groups. In this format, Master's level staff work with up to ten participants who have demonstrated a lack of emotional control and an inability to understand the reasons and consequences for anger related behaviors.
Group activities include counseling and experiential activities designed to meet the groups' needs and will cover such topics as: Defining anger; Triggers and warnings; Controlling anger; Assertive communication; and Role plays. Providence staff use a variety of research based curriculums appropriate to the group composure. Most programs are 12 weeks in duration, and meet weekly.
Anger Management is offered in all geographic areas.
