Georgia

In Georgia, Providence offers services through its wholly owned entities, AmericanWork, Inc, Transitional Family Services, Inc., Providence Community Corrections, Inc., and LogistiCare.

AmericanWork, Inc. began providing services to Georgia’s Severely Mentally Ill adults in 1999, and today offers a range of services that maximize the ability of people with a mental illness or addictive disorder to live and thrive in their community. Our goals are parallel with the recovery and resiliency model Georgia desires. We, as an organization, are aware of the importance of exploring the consumer’s perspective and the key roles of instilling hope, promoting self-help, spirituality, education, meaningful employment, the importance of medications and illness management, and the need to build supports for each consumer as a “whole person” who is seeking a self-directed life.

Transitional Family Services, Inc. (“TFS”) began providing services to Georgia’s children in 1993, and today offers a range of family preservation services. Currently TFS holds contracts in forty counties in Central and Northern Georgia. The contracts are with the Division of Family and Children Services, Division of Mental Health, and the Department of Juvenile Justice. TFS is approved by the state to provide Wrap Around, CCFA, Homestead, Parent Aid, Early Intervention Services, and Home Evaluations. TFS contracted with Medicaid to provide specialty service of Intensive Family Intervention (IFI), and full continuum of CORE services. In addition, TFS family preservation and support programs are fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA).
